Violet Jira is a Washington, D.C. based journalist covering politics and policy. She is passionate about using the power of words and images to hold the people and institutions of government accountable. Her coverage areas have included the White House, Congress, and the Department of Education, in addition to local reporting in her home state of Mississippi.
